1. What is psychoeducational testing?
Psychoeducational testing is the scientific measurement and assessment of
learning processes and the effects key psychological variables have on them.
2. What problems/diagnoses are among those evaluated by means of
psychoeducational testing?
Learning difficulties, developmental delays, and systematic attention and
concentration deficiencies are common problems assessed. The evaluation may
include diagnosing for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD),
various Learning Disabilities (LD), Pediatric Developmental Disorder (PDD),
Asperger's, and other learning and developmental disorders.
3. Is psychoeducational testing like taking tests in school?
No. You are not expected to get answers "right" but, instead, to simply pay
attention and to do your best. You will not be receiving a grade.
4. Will I be able to schedule testing at times of day which won't conflict
with school schedule, being tired, taking various medications, or other
factors which might affect the assessment?
Scheduling is flexible to your school hours and is intended to test your
abilities at times when you are able to put forth your best effort. Please
mention medications regimen, sleep patterns, etc. at time of scheduling.
5. How are reports of test results shared with schools, physicians,
counselors, or other interested parties?
Reports of your testing will be sent to all parties you designate and
authorize in writing. Test materials and reports are confidential and are
filed and stored in our office.
