Frequently-Asked Questions About Workplace Skills Assessment:
1. What is Workplace Skills Assessment?
Workplace Skills refer to a set of psychological resources people draw upon
to succeed in the workplace. These skills include, but are not limited to,
fundamentals in organization, concentration, memory, self-confidence,
communication and interpersonal effectiveness. Workplace skills assessment
measures the levels and interactions of these variables as they relate to an
individual's work behavior and performance.
2. How are Workplace Skills assessed?
Measurements of these skills are made through multi-method analysis that
includes the use of interview, questionnaire, psychological testing, work
performance data and additional methods chosen depending on the nature and
extent of the assessment needs.
3. Can I prepare for the assessment?
Only to the extent that you assist us in describing, from your point of view,
the difficulties and questions you have regarding your workplace behavior and
the environment surrounding it. We do the rest in terms of designing how the
assessment will best answer your concerns. Additionally, the tests and
methods used are not procedures that you can "prepare" for.
4. How will assessment findings be explained to me?
Our workplace skills assessments include a feedback session that concretely
outlines behaviors for you to focus on for change and ways for you to
redirect your talents and aptitudes to achieve your intended workplace goals.
Ongoing coaching services can be arranged at this time.
5. Is evaluation data kept confidential? Can I have access to it at later
points?
Assessment data is filed and stored in our office. Information about your
assessment is kept confidential and is not released without your prior
written authorization. It is not infrequent for our clients to return for
assessments or consultations at later points in their careers. Access to the
earlier recorded information is, then, very useful in charting one's progress
with workplace skills over time.
